Our Aims

Tanzania is one of the poorest countries in the World, yet it is one rich in culture and heritage. The people are keen and intelligent, but they have few educational opportunities. Children are increasingly able to access free primary education, but secondary education remains too expensive for many families.

The centre aims to empower local people through the provision of education, which is provided free of charge. Courses for which the community have expressed a need are run, and they are run in an excellent environment for teaching and learning. The centre is open 11 hours a day, 6 days a week, providing excellent access to educational resources, irrespective of tribe, religion or gender.

Both children and adults are welcomed at the centre and courses are tailored to age groups. For children, classes act to supplement their schooling and for adults, classes act to provide them with further skills which will help them in finding employment.

But our main aim is to react to what the community wants and needs. We listen to our students and we take on board their requests. It is for them that the centre is here and it is for them that centre is run.
